Search Engine Optimisation in Plain English
Thursday 8th May | Book Now

To get the most out of your website you need to make sure that the
people looking for your products and services can find you on the Internet. That means that if you sell widgets in Farnham, someone Googling for 'widgets in Farnham' needs to find your business on the first page of Google.

This doesn't need to be as complicated as it sounds. A lot of it is pure common sense. And it's true that in a competitive market there are no guarantees that you can get your business to the top of the rankings. But there's a lot you can do to improve your chances.

During this three hour workshop we'll give you some common sense tips, tools and techniques that you can use to get the most out of your website's visibility to search engines.

IDEAL FOR: anyone that's a complete beginner to search engine optimisation and wants the hocus-pocus surrounding this industry taken away.

WHAT WILL BE COVERED:
  • A very simple introduction into how search engines work and how you can use this to your business's advantage
  • Meta Tags, Page Descriptions and Page Titles: What they are and how to use them (we'll use the Websites by Printing.com Update Centre to demonstrate how to amend these in practice)
  • Identifying the keywords for your business
  • Website copy - how to get it working for the search engines, when you can go overkill on this and put the reader off
  • Blogging, Social Networking Sites and other stories: Creative ways to improve your search engine rankings
HOW YOU WILL BENEFIT
You'll leave the workshop with a clearer insight into the simple tools that are out there to help make your site more visible to the search engines. You'll be a part of a small group so there will be plenty of time to ask questions, share experiences and gain introductions to other businesses in the local area. You'll also be able to maximise the value of your website.
